Hanwha Robotics is accelerating its expansion in South America after participating in the region’s largest machine tool and industrial automation trade show.

From May 6 to 10, Hanwha Robotics’ official distributor HCR America exhibited a range of collaborative robot solutions at EXPOMAFE 2025, held in São Paulo, Brazil. The show attracted over 60,000 visitors and featured participation from more than 1,000 companies.

At the HCR America booth, live demonstrations featured Hanwha’s collaborative robots performing a variety of tasks, including powder coating, polishing, and welding—each tailored to meet industrial demands.

Among the highlights was the Motion Tracking Solution, which precisely replicates a human operator’s movements to suit specific processes. This technology was showcased through a powder coating demo, primarily used in automotive and manufacturing industries. The robot behind this demo was the HCR-10L, featuring a maximum reach of 1,800 mm—the longest in its class for 10kg payload collaborative robots.

For polishing tasks, the HCR-14—Hanwha’s highest payload model with a 14kg capacity—was deployed, while the HCR-5A handled welding applications, drawing considerable attention from attendees.

Hanwha Robotics also secured tangible business outcomes during the exhibition. The company completed an on-site sale of its smart machine tending solution, which integrates collaborative robots with AI-powered 3D vision technology to automate loading and unloading processes. In addition, Hanwha signed supply contracts with five local robotics dealers in Brazil.
