Hanwha Robotics take part in the 2024 Changwon International Welding and Cutting Automation Exhibition (WELDING KOREA 2024), taking place from October 15th until October 18th in Changwon, Gyeongnam Province. This exhibition is the largest professional event for the welding and cutting industry in South Korea.
This year, Hanwha Robotics will showcase a variety of smart factory solutions, including the next-generation collaborative robot, the HCR-5W.

The HCR-5W is a lightweight version of the existing HCR-5A model (21 kg), optimized for welding tasks while maintaining a payload capacity of 5 kg. Its reduced weight and intuitive interface facilitate effective collaboration between humans and robots. A representative from Hanwha Robotics stated, “The lightweight HCR-5W is easy to install and offers a flexible working environment. It is also equipped with advanced safety features, including collision avoidance, ensuring the stability required for welding processes.”

Another notable feature at the exhibition is the automated system integrated with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR). This system connects AMRs with collaborative robots, showcasing the future of smart factories. Attendees can observe an AMR autonomously transporting pipes to the work area after automatic loading. The collaborative robot will then demonstrate technology for applying ink designs and laser marking on the received pipes. Additionally, a real-time arc welding monitoring system that analyzes welding conditions and checks quality using advanced cameras garnered significant attention.

Jeong Byung-chan, CEO of Hanwha Robotics, remarked, “In the era of Industry 4.0, automating the entire factory process is essential. Hanwha Robotics is committed to continuously showcasing such technologies, significantly contributing to the productivity and quality improvement of our clients.”

Hanwha Robotics is a joint venture established in October 2023, co-invested by Hanwha Corporation and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts. The company focuses on the development, production, and sale of mobility robots (AGV, AMR) and collaborative robots. Recently, it has expanded its business scope into various fields, including food tech and logistics automation, providing innovative robotic solutions.
