Hanwha Robotics unveiled its next-generation collaborative robot, the "HCR-10L," for the first time at the Intnational Manufacturing Technology Show 2024 (IMTS 2024), which opened on the 9th in Chicago, United States.

IMTS 2024, held from September 9th to 14th, is the world's largest manufacturing technology exhibition, featuring over 1,800 companies from 29 countries. The event showcases machine tools and cutting-edge technologies, including automation, robotics, and AI.

The newly revealed HCR-10L is a long-reach type collaborative robot that can extend its arm up to 1800mm, making it the longest in its class with a payload of 10kg. It can be used in various industrial settings such as powder coating, palletizing, and welding. Its flexibility allows it to operate efficiently even in large workspaces, making it ideal for tasks in logistics, manufacturing, and assembly.

Personnel from Hanwha Robotics said, "We will continue to lead the future of the robotics industry alongside global partners, leveraging the technology recognized at this international exhibition."

The exhibition also showcased Hanwha Robotics’ "Motion Tracking & Recording" technology, which optimized human movements into collaborative robots and grabbed visitors' attention. The technology showed the HCR-10L's ability to quickly replicate a professional's powder coating technique on a hood and a wheel rim, demonstrating automated repetition.

In addition, Hanwha Robotics presented various applications using its technologies, including AI Vision, Visual Safety, and the Sommelier Vinobot, which specializes in wine decanting and breathing.

IMTS 2024 attracted over 100,000 professionals from around the world, with Hanwha Robotics’ booth drawing in 15,000 visitors daily, creating a bustling atmosphere.

Byung Chan Jung, CEO of Hanwha Robotics, said, "We plan to use the HCR-10L to establish a foothold in the U.S. and European markets and will continue to expand our overseas distributors to increase our share in the global robotics market."

Hanwha Robotics is a joint venture founded in October 2023 by Hanwha Momentum and Hanwha Hotels & Resorts. It is a global robot manufacturer focusing on the development, production, and sale of mobility robots (AGV, AMR) and collaborative robots. Recently, the company has offered innovative robotics solutions by expanding its business into various fields, such as food tech and logistics automation.
